Tonight, a large crowd gathers for the Rock
Sound and Impericon Exposure tour which went out with a bang at
London’s Islington Academy. With the solid line up, there was no surprise that
tonight’s show had sold out and pure anticipation can be felt in the air.
First up tonight, the Somerset lads Landscapes,
battled on as they tried to get a response from the small crowd which slowly
filled up –possibly from the long queues. Nevertheless, they show clear talent
with their solid grooves, accompanied by superb vocals from Shaun
Milton.
Stray
From The Path immediately injected more
energy into the room – where the crowd exploded into a crazy mosh, when asked
to ‘spin this room’. With the fast
and groovy beats of Damien, fans were delighted when hands locked between them and
vocalist Drew York. It seems the crowd couldn’t get enough of them, but
there is no denying everyone is itching for the main support tonight.
No introduction is needed for the main
support Bury Tomorrow. Storming straight into Sceptres tonight, Dani
Winter-Bates delivers and he delivers beautifully. Accompanied by Jason and Davyd, brutal beat downs
sent the crowd wild. With much surprise tonight, Bury Tomorrow played a short set;
nonetheless they managed to play the classic Royal Blood and the old favourite Waxed Wings. However, the set was mainly dominated by The Union
of Crowns. The crowd do not disapprove, though, as they deliver a spot
on performance as usual.
For the last time on this tour, The
Ghost Inside demonstrate perfectly why they belong as the headliner. Opening
with This Is What I know About Sacrifice and Get What You Give, singing echoes
throughout the whole room. A strong start clearly shows what they are all about
–passion, commitment and energy. With every song being ripped apart, the pits
open up, wall to wall – the most impressive all night.
It’s clear to see AND hear, that the older
tracks such as Faith or Forgiveness
and Provoke are being received as
highly as the latest The Greater Unknown.
At last, after two UK supports
The Ghost Inside are playing to a passionate and committed audience, which they
deserve!
As the night draws to an end, the encore
is definitely heartfelt. There isn’t a voice in the room who isn’t singing the popular
and deep track Engine 45. With
delight of the fans, John Virgil launched himself over
the barrier and into the crowd, ensuring chaos. However, he was met by hugs and
smiles and this is what The Ghost Inside are all about –
their fans.
